Building DBMS systems since 1998, C/C++ since 1993. UCSD alumni. Started with XML/XQuery databases and spent quite some time trying to build something better than relational DBs, but finally gave up.

Recently working on MPP Analytics: Huawei GaussDB, TigerGraph, YDB. I also enjoy AI and Machine Learning, tried to apply some complex stuff to databases, but nothing except basic regression has made it into production yet.
