Application of GPUs in Solving the N-body Problem: Case Studies on the Big Bang Simulation and Galactic Matter Motion

  • Talk in Russian

This talk is dedicated to the development of a universal cross-platform program for solving the N-body problem using GPUs. It is implemented using the Vulkan API and the GLSL programming language, ensuring high flexibility and scalability. The focus is on adapting classic PM (Particle-Mesh) and P3M (Particle-Particle-Particle-Mesh) algorithms for optimized GPU performance. These modifications allow for the effective utilization of parallel computing capabilities characteristic of modern graphics processors. This approach is particularly beneficial for simulating complex astrophysical processes such as the Big Bang and the dynamics of matter in galaxies.
